Open Day – Ready to Roll 2025

Sunday 5th October at 1pm

All are welcome to try lawn bowls at the Wilton Bowling Club on Sunday afternoon 5th October starting at 1pm. Afternoon tea will be provided and the bar will be open.

Please bring bowls if you have them, otherwise the club bowls will be available to use. It is important to wear light-coloured soft soled shoes (tennis or sports shoes) on the green and to keep food and drinks off the green.

A video demonstrating the delivery technique will be available to view, with experienced bowlers on hand to provide practical advice and guidance on the green. Those who have bowled before can take part in supervised games which will be running throughout the afternoon.

We hope that by the end of the day everyone who wishes to, will have had an opportunity to participate in a game of bowls. Spectators, families, and children are welcome to attend this fun social occasion.

Wilton Bowling Club situated adjacent to Otari-Wilton’s Bush is a beautiful place for bowling and social activities, especially on a fine day. It is possible to bowl on the artificial Thorndon green in light rain and an indoor rink can be set up in the clubhouse if required, so the Open Day will take place whatever the weather.
